A three month program to let go of what limits you and embody what's next.
Join Tara Larkin and Carrie Meyer for three mini retreats over three months to
support a deep dive into what limits you. Your hosts will guide you through processes to release
old patterns and rediscover the power that resides deep within to move towards what you want in
Whether you are just getting the first inklings that something needs to shift in life, or you are
mid transition to something new and exciting, let us share with you practices to discover what
holds you back from what you truly desire.
Habits of our body include the ways that we think, beliefs that we hold, and ways we get stuck
into habits of movement - these patterns are ingrained in our somatic nervous system. This can
keep us locked in fear and pain, stuck where we no longer want to be. Our brains and bodies
become a storehouse of limiting thoughts, beliefs and actions. Often times these thoughts,
beliefs and actions are so deeply embedded that they are unconscious. When this happens we don’t
feel like we are in control of ourselves and we don’t understand what is keeping us stuck.
If you are feeling like it’s time for something new.
If you would like to find your way back to what is really important to you and embody it.
If you would like to move freely and feel ease and joy in your body.
If you want to see a clearer path forward and be confident in your decisions.
If you want to ditch the heaviness of expectations and come home to yourself.
If you are looking for change it’s time to dive in. This is an opportunity to examine your
thoughts, fears and beliefs, let go of what no longer serves, and open up your mind and body in
a new way.
Using a unique combination of somatic coaching practices and somatic movement therapy you will
discover the habits of mind and movement that are holding you back and open yourself up to
transformation and change. This program will leave you with tools and practices to move through
life with more confidence, ease and joy.
So this sounds awesome right, but how does it work exactly?
Somatic means to experience from within - a process of going inside to rediscover and harness our
innate potentiality for healing and change. It is a process of bringing awareness to the
conscious and unconscious parts of ourselves that keep us stuck.
In today’s’ world we live mostly in our heads. We think things through, focus on the past or
daydream the future without living in the present moment. We get caught up in the daily stress
and don’t often slow down to tune in to our hearts or our bodies to hear what they need and
want. The result is disembodiment - a lack of connection to the soma (our sensing, feeling
self-regulating body). This results in physical pain that we ignore or suffer through, and a
sense of disconnection from ourselves and our true desires.
Somatic practices allow us to tune back in to the soma, reclaiming the brain’s control over
choice and action. As we practice getting quiet we can then listen more clearly to our truest
needs and desires we can open up to new habits of movement and mind. This program uses a
combination of somatic movement therapy and somatic coaching to achieve this goal.
Somatic movement practices teach us how to relearn supportive habits of movement in our somas.
Somatic coaching is about tuning into to,the feelings and sensations in our bodies that guide us
to our deepest wisdom and knowing.
The modalities of Somatic Coaching and Somatic Movement Therapy combine brilliantly to offer you
a unique opportunity to :
Learn embodiment and get to know yourself well through your senses
Learn to sense and connect with deep feeling by facing it, welcoming it in and allowing it
to work on you instead of detaching from it and avoiding it
Be your own authority instead of being defined by rules, norms, and expectations
Be intentional about your choices rather than reactive to circumstances
Sense deep into your body to feel, hear and understand what is needed to move freely rather
than being desensitised and trying to use force
You will think clearly and focus-in rather than overthinking, paralysing yourself with
Reshape old ways of being so you can make room for new ones
Learn to use your 3 brains: head, heart and gut
Learn to create your own safe container within yourself
Through simple maps and visuals learn how your mind works and how to use your mind to your
benefit to foster healing and more peace and harmony in your life

“I had been floundering ever since my kids left home a few years ago.
I was taking on far too much,
filling my time being busy but not doing many things that were
really meaningful to me.
Tara helped me map out all of my activities and relationships, and
got me back in touch with my values.
Then, with her help, I aligned my goals with my values and focused
on activities and relationships that
help me be the happiest and most balanced version of me. She helped
me let go of guilt associated with
putting myself first and fulfilling my own goals for my life. Tara
is exceptionally perceptive and her
manner is kind and gentle, while also being very effective at
holding me accountable! I'd recommend a
coaching relationship with Tara to anyone who needs guidance in the
journey to being his or her best self.”
“Tara connected me to a sense of self I knew existed but couldn’t
reach. She has raw talent that makes her exceptionally made for and
extraordinary at this work. Using her blend of profound intuition,
deep listening and ruthless pursuit of helping her clients live at
their fullest potential makes my investment in her as a Life Coach
one of the best choices of my life. Today I am living more
authentically, openly and fully than I ever have and it feels
“Working with Tara has been like something I've never experienced
before. I'm still pretty amazed at the way she’s been able to open
my mind into seeing old things from new perspective while supporting
me, but allowing me to come to a resolution on my own. Her kind but
firm demeanor makes her an excellent coach and I’m extremely
grateful that she has become part of my growing process.”
“Carrie has the ability to vocalize cues that helped me focus on the
movements and target the muscles that were supposed to be working.
Carrie happily answered my many questions and was always very
encouraging. By the end of the workshop the tendonitis in my elbow
that had been causing me considerable pain for several months, was
almost 100% resolved! This was quite amazing to me as it was a group
setting with no specific focus on me or my personal aches & pains.”
“Working with Carrie I've learned incredible things about my body,
including how to listen to it and explore it as opposed to
restricting it in an effort to protect it. I've learned how
important breath is. I've also learned about how my daily actions -
the way I sit, walk, etc. - impact my body as a whole, and how these
can have tremendous impact on my overall well-being. Follow-up
sessions have provided me with additional comfort that has lasted,
and continues to last. I am thrilled to report that I have been
essentially pain-free since June 2017. I am amazed that it only took
four months to fix the four years of pain that I endured, and it
turns out it wasn't even my back that was the issue - it’s likely an
injury to my shoulder that was causing my back pain!”
